Academic clown

We don’t associate clowns, jokers, or tricksters with academics. But it is never unusual to see an academic clown. Academic clowns are those who write papers on practical problems and offer never implementable solutions. For academic clowns every practical problem encountered is potentially an opportunity to pour out their entangled enlightenment on that phenomenon.
